*The second season of the hit STARZ crime drama “BMF” has kicked off and so far, the show has not disappointed fans.
The series unpacks the true story of brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (Demetrius Flenory, Jr.) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi), who rose from the decaying streets of southwest Detroit in the late ’80s to give birth to one of the most influential crime families in the country, Black Mafia Family.
There are several guest stars and new faces on BMF, including actress Christine Horn (Snowfall) Horn stars this season as Mabel Jones, a trusted friend, and neighbor to the Flenory family. Despite her vivacious façade, the Flenorys will discover there’s more than meets the eye to this woman who’s been living a double life. When Mabel’s secret comes to light, it has an earth-shattering ripple effect.
Horn spoke exclusively with EURweb’s Jill Munroe about her exciting new role this season, check out what she had to say in our exclusive video conversation below.
“You meet Mabel in the first episode. She’s just a staple one of the neighbors. The kids know her; she always comes over to borrow Lucille’s pan, that kind of thing. And so Charles doesn’t pay much attention to her. She’s just one of his wife’s friends. But as the season goes on, we will understand why Mabel moved into that neighborhood. What some of her history is, and how when her secrets come to light, she has a shattering ripple effect on the entire Flannery family,” Horn told EUR.
The actress said it was something about this character that drew her in. “Mabel was vivacious. The life of the party. But she had her secrets,” said Horn.
Horn also noted that Mabel is a bit juicier than anything she’s played before.
We know as an audience that “BMF” is based on a real story, but some of the characters are blends of real people. Although Horn said her character is a mix, she explained, “I want to say she’s a mix of quite a few and someone who I could imagine has peeked her head into their lives in some way or another.”
