*On a recent episode of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg launched a passionate tirade against both Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance, particularly targeting Vance’s comments regarding the two assassination attempts on Trump. Goldberg, known for her forthright opinions, made it clear that both figures do not escape her criticism.
Goldberg opened the discussion by labeling the situation surrounding the assassination attempts as “idiotic” and criticizing Vance’s remarks during a recent speech. Vance, speaking at the Faith and Freedom Coalition in Atlanta, implied that the recent assassination attempts on Trump indicated a failure of the left to moderate their rhetoric, Decider reported.
“You know the big difference between conservatives and liberals is that no one has tried to kill Kamala Harris in the last couple of months, and two people now have tried to kill Donald Trump. I’d say that’s pretty strong evidence that the left needs to tone down the rhetoric and needs to cut this crap out,” Vance stated in a clip played on “The View.”
The audience at “The View” was taken aback by Vance’s comments, with visible gasps and murmurs of disbelief resonating throughout the studio. Co-host Joy Behar noted the audience’s shock, remarking, “The audience is appalled.” Alyssa Farah Griffin added to the moment, observing, “Literally, jaws were dropping in our audience.”
Goldberg, undeterred by the backlash from some quarters, seized the opportunity to scold Vance directly. Addressing him through the camera, she pointed out the contradiction in his approach.
“J.D., clearly you’ve not been to one of your boss’s rallies. Because you believe this insanity. I mean, he has been inciting violence since 2016, telling them to beat up hecklers, threatened to shoot looters and migrants.”
Goldberg implored Vance to reflect inwardly, suggesting that rather than shifting blame, he should acknowledge the truth of the situation.
“You have to really take a look in a mirror to see the reflection. One of the reasons that everybody has survived is because the Secret Service has been doing their job,” she stated, directly challenging Vance’s perspective on culpability.
As the discussion unfolded, it became evident that while Goldberg holds a strong disdain for Trump, her contempt for Vance is equally pronounced. The exchange highlighted not only the tensions between different political camps but also the need for responsibility in the discourse surrounding such serious topics.
