The case in question involves alleged burglary claims filed by the Osefos for 42 to 57 stolen items—an unusually high number. Gunvalson said this would require a steep premium and raise suspicion right away.
The couple allegedly filed claims with three different insurers: Homesite, Jewelers Mutual, and Travelers. Gunvalson pointed out that filing the same claim multiple times without disclosure is illegal. “Double dipping” is not only unethical, it’s a prosecutable offense.
