*The origin of “Uncle Sam” took on a whole new meaning when it was used as a recruitment slogan during the outbreak of World War I. Our democratic government, consisting of three branches — executive, legislative, and judicial — has now been reduced to a one-man show; seemingly headed for dictatorship. But hold your horses! Americans of all backgrounds and bents are finally pushing back!
With an estimated seven million protestors taking to the streets all across America on No Kings Day (10-18-25), one can only wonder what difference it would have made had they done so on what’s known as J6, when Trump’s MAGA followers stormed the Capitol. Trump, who incited the insurrection, then watched on TV as the violence ensued — as police officers were being injured (resulting in death for some); a noose intended for his vice president was strung up; and government property was being destroyed — should have been jailed for treason J6 night!
What happened? Trump watched the events unfold for a little over three hours with no intervention. In everything he does — steamrolling ahead, ignoring laws, rules, and regulations — he seems to get a pass at every turn. It’s no different with his tactics for the illegal immigration round-up, and it won’t stop there unless he’s stopped! “Uncle Sam,” the people are calling out, “where’s the Calvary?”

So now, with no bipartisan congressional approval, as the Trump administration continues to deploy the National Guard and Federal ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents in its so-called fight against crime throughout the country, here are some tips on how to lessen the chance of illegal detention, stripped of your rights, and due process:
No ID on your person: Carry ID at all times, even when doing yard work or taking out the trash.
Vagrancy: Defined as roaming from place to place without a permanent job, home, or material resources. Many criminal statutes targeting vagrancy have been declared invalid for being unconstitutionally vague, which is a violation of due process.
Indecent Exposure: The crime of intentionally showing one’s sexual organs in public. The act of outraging public decency by being naked in a public place. “Sagging”: wearing pants below the waist so that undergarments are showing. Most sources report that sagging pants began in the prison system.
Disorderly Conduct: Conduct that disturbs the peace, morals, or safety of the general public or of a class of people. In other words, behavior that causes others to become annoyed, alarmed, offended, inconvenienced, physically injured, or financially harmed.
Loitering: To stand or wait around idly or without apparent purpose. A crowd may be viewed as a gang.
Public Intoxication: In summary, misconducting in public while drunk could be fined in California, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Texas, and Virginia. Wherever you may be, know your limits, beware, and stay alert.
Street takeovers: A sideshow (so-called in the San Francisco Bay Area, and a street takeover in the Los Angeles area) is an informal and often illegal demonstration of automotive stunts now often held in vacant lots and public intersections, originally seen in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Video game-style driving: Dangerous driving — including lane weaving, excessive speeding, and road rage.
Stolen Car: Including stolen cars used for smash and grab and high-speed chases
Illegal weapon possession: Felons and minors beware
False invitations: Responding to a trap offering remedy/relief for such things as traffic fines, expungement, child support, and student loan debt. This could be a “bait and switch” scheme.
Note from Larry: I started to title this article, Trump wants you and I “Uncle Sam”, but I took the you and I out because you and I, we, are the undergirding of Uncle Sam’s democracy! Trump needs to get over his egomania and vengeful tactics that have no place in a democratic society. Think about it!
