*Toni Braxton is bringing her music to the screen in a new collaboration with Lifetime. The Grammy-winning artist has signed on to lead two films inspired by some of her most memorable songs.
According to Deadline, the first project, “He Wasn’t Man Enough,” debuts November 22 at 8/7c as part of Lifetime’s “Love of a Lifetime” programming. The story centers on Mel Montgomery (Braxton), a bestselling author who discovers that her boyfriend Richard (Thomas Cadrot) has been unfaithful. When she learns Richard is engaged to her former college friend Monica (Essence Atkins), Mel and Monica put aside past differences and, with the help of best friend Candy (Yvette Nicole Brown), confront his betrayal together.
The film draws directly from Braxton’s 2000 hit single “He Wasn’t Man Enough.” Rather than focusing on revenge, the story highlights resilience and solidarity between women navigating heartbreak.

Braxton and Atkins will also headline “Breathe Again,” slated for 2026, co-starring Cree Summer. The narrative follows three reality dating show contestants—Jennifer (Braxton), Vanessa (Summer), and Evelyn (Atkins)—who each leave the competition with broken hearts. Their disappointment evolves into friendship as they rebuild their lives across Los Angeles and Seattle.
Braxton serves as producer on both projects, along with Tanya Lopez and Kenneth Crear for Lifetime, with Stan Brooks directing and serving as executive producer.
