*Marques Houston and Chris Stokes premiered their first theatrical release with a Sci-fi action film, “Run.” Houston and Stokes’ production company, Footage Films, has produced over 50 films for online content through the digital streaming service Tubi. With successful films like the Stepmother trilogy starring Erica Mena, and their most recent release, TKo starring Robert Ri’Chard (One on One), Footage Films has taken its talents to the big screen.
The film premiered last week at the infamous Chinese Theater. Stokes shared his enthusiasm with the audience about being able to produce films where he’s able to employ hundreds of Black film & crew members.
“We have had the pleasure to do a lot of work here. Everything that we are doing to keep building as a company. Being able to hire over 300 employees every year, including 200 being African American,” Stokes told the audience.
Shortly after the cast shared their experiences working on the film, it was time to give the audience exactly what they came for! “Run” delivers a thrilling mix of suspense, drama, and a touch of romance that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
The story follows Melissa, played by Annie Ngosi Ilonzeh, a bride-to-be who shocks everyone by leaving her fiancé at the altar. Hoping to escape the chaos, Melissa takes off on a much-needed girls’ getaway with her closest friends. But what starts as a relaxing retreat quickly turns into a fight for survival when the women realize the world is under alien attack and one of their own has already been taken. Suddenly, their weekend escape becomes a desperate struggle to stay alive.

Even in the middle of chaos, the film sprinkles in moments of much-needed laughter thanks to Erica Mena, who delivers surprising comic relief as Donnie, the wild and free-spirited friend every group needs. Her sharp wit and fearless personality break up the tension while still keeping the stakes high.
Meanwhile, Melissa’s jilted fiancé, Andre, played by Marques Houston, shows up unexpectedly, determined to win her back. But instead of a romantic reconciliation, Andre finds himself thrown headfirst into an otherworldly battle, facing dangers he never could have imagined.
