*On Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:30pm, the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival (LAWTF) will open its 33rd annual Solo Theater Festival at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Hollywood with its Champagne Gala, Red Carpet reception, awards and performances.
Themed “The Strength We Carry” and directed by Faye Hauser-Price, the festival offers theater lovers the chance to take in the full event from March 26th to March 29th, or any of the six individual shows featuring 22 electrifying performers from around the country.
The Thursday Gala is hosted by Ted Lange (The Love Boat), and Florence LaRue (The Fifth Dimension).
Gala Honorees are:
Carmen De Lavallade — Infinity Award
Diane Ladd — Infinity Award
Yvonne Farrow — Eternity Award
Vannia Ibarguen — Maverick Award
Andi Chapman — Integrity Award

The six festival shows are directed by actor Fay Hauser-Price (aka Fay Hauser) who says, “I am excited to bring my directorial vision to this wonderful festival. Our solo artists will share their magic through dance, acting, and music, creating a unique sense of communion within the live theater setting. I will also be performing my poetry and songs during the Gala, and with a different performance on Saturday, March 28th, at 8pm, titled ‘Notes on Being Human, A Poet Speaks’.”
The remaining 5 shows will take place at Theatre 68 Arts Complex in North Hollywood. The performances are as follows: Friday, March 27th at 8pm, themed “Rising Above;” Saturday March 28th, 3pm, themed “Breaking Free;” and 8pm themed “Introspection,” where Fay will perform additional spoken word and song. The festival will close out on Sunday, March 29th, with 2 shows starting at 3pm themed “Relatively Speaking,” and at 7pm themed “Mothers, Music, and Men.”
The Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival was founded by Executive Producer Adilah Barnes and Miriam Reed.
Hauser is best known for her acting roles in Roots: The Next Generation, Good Times, The Young and the Restless, Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh, The Hot Chick, and Akeelah and the Bee. She is also the wife of former Motown lead singer of The Temptations, Louis Price; and their daughter Sierra is a partner at an international law firm.

This is a great organization of female performers deserving of support.
