*Dardevil’s place in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has brought up thoughts of a return for his Defenders allies Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.
Referencing an interview Marvel Studios’ streaming and TV boss Brad Winderbaum did with Entertainment Weekly, HipHopWired reports the efforts are underway by the executive and his team to bring back “Marvel’s Luke Cage,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” and “Marvel’s Iron Fist” at some point down the road.
The consideration comes as Daredevil returns to the small screen with the highly anticipated Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again” after a three-season run of the character’s show on Netflix.
Daredevil’s appearances outside of his solo series have been few but notable in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” She Hulk: Attorney At Law,” “Echo” and “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.”
“I can’t say much, but I’ll tell you that it’s so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox,” Winderbaum told EW. “Obviously we don’t have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book. If you can draw it, you can do it. It’s dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television. But I can just say that all those variables taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring.”

If things work out for Luke Cage and Jessica Jones to return, it would be music to the ears of those longtime fans of the comic book fixtures as well as viewers who discovered the pair via their respective Netflix shows.
During its two-season run, “Luke Cage” starred Mike Colter played the titular hero, who is noted for being the first black superhero to star in its own regular title.
The critically acclaimed series, which ran from 2016-2018, was the third Marvel Netflix series leading into the crossover miniseries “The Defenders,” which teamed Luke Cage with Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist against a supervillain ninja clan known as The Hand.
In addition to “Daredevil” and “Luke Cage,” “Jessica Jones” was among the best series in the Netflix DefenderVerse. The three-season action show, featured Krysten Ritter as the titular superhero turned private investigator, ran from 2015-2019 and proved a hit with fans.
The character is considered one of Marvel’s most powerful and notable female heroes

With Luke Cage and Jessica Jones under Marvel consideration to enter the MCU, thoughts now turn to who else may join the power-packed duo that have appeared in the Marvel Netflix series.
“Who knows what the future brings?” Winderbaum replied when asked about characters like Elektra and The Hand officially coming in with their own shows.
“Once we arc out here, there’s obviously any number of stories that we’d want to revisit or pull from the comics that involve Elektra or the Hand or any part of the Daredevil mythos,” Winderbaum added.
“100 percent it’s in the back of our heads,” “Daredevil: Born Again” co-producer Sana Amanat admitted to EW separately of Elektra and the Hand. “Eventually we’ll try to figure out a bit more with that.”
