*On Thursday, March 19, on an all-new The Real, the ladies discuss how long they would wait in a new relationship to allow their man to see them without makeup. Co-host Loni Love gives her step-by-step process of revealing her fresh face and describes James’ reaction to her final step of removing her wig in front of him!
And, are women more critical than men of other women’s appearances? The ladies discuss their opinions of why this may be, where this perception stems from, and how women can be more supportive of each other.
Also, co-host Adrienne Houghton explains that she is conscious about attire and will adjust what she is wearing based on whom she’s meeting up with.
The First Time James Saw Loni Without Her Wig!
Loni Love: At first– I take off the eyelashes first. Let ‘em see what my eyes really look like without all this, right?
Jeannie Mai: Which they look beautiful. You do that on the show all the time. Yes, okay.
Loni: Then I take my eyebrows off. That’s in two weeks.
(The Real audience laughs)
Tamera Mowry-Housley: Two weeks. Two weeks.
Loni: So, then I’m starting to look like E.T. a little bit to ‘em. But, if he can take that though, okay, I know we all right.
Jeannie: Right!
Loni: I always keep a little foundation. But, then it’s probably gonna end up on his pillow. So, eventually, I start taking that off.
(The Real audience laughs)
Loni: So, then you can see a little– (motions around her eyes) Then that’s when I start putting on the undereye concealer…
Tamera: What are we looking at now? How many weeks?
Loni: So now, we’re looking at four weeks, right?
(The Real audience laughs)
Tamera: Okay. Four weeks.
Amanda Seales: Okay.
Loni: But… as soon as I’m ready… in about six good weeks…
Adrienne Houghton: Is this a baby or a relationship?
Loni: This… we start to pull… (Motions as if she was pulling her wig off of her head)
Jeannie Mai: (Screams)
(The Real audience laughs)
Tamera: Don’t do it. Don’t do it.
Jeannie: Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it!
Amanda: No waaaay! Let it all hang out!
Loni: (Shakes her head as if she just took her wig off)
Tamera: I wanna know… Wait! I wanna know… Loni, I’ve never asked you this. I wanna know James’ reaction to that.
Loni: We went on our vacation to the Bahamas. We jumped over a cliff… I’m gonna give y’all– I’m gonna give it to you– I’ll give you the tape. I jumped over the cliff and went over a twenty five foot cliff…
Jeannie: Did you secure the bag?
Tamera: Oh my gosh!
Loni: See I didn’t secure the wig. The wig came off in the water.
Jeannie: Oh my gosh!
Amanda: Did you know it had come off?
Loni: No!
Tamera: Searching– you knew you have to come up!
Loni: You know when your wig is c– I’m trying not to come up!
Tamera: Yeah! I was about to say, “How long?”
Loni: I’m trying to find the wig. I was… (motions as if she is searching in the water)
(The Real hosts and audience laugh)
Adrienne: She’d drown herself before she‘d let the wig come off.
Loni: ‘Cause I’m like, “I gotta find this wig!”
Adrienne: Loni would almost drown before she’d come up without the wig on.
Loni: I almost drown and I was running out of air… And I was like, “Lord I gotta come up. I’m about to die.”
(The Real audience laughs)
Loni: So, I had the wig, I came up and you saw all these braids– but, I just got my hair freshly braided!
(The Real hosts and audience applaud)
Tamera: Obviously…
Adrienne: I like that. I like that. What did he say?
Loni: He saw me. He saw me– at first it was a little kid. The little kid was like (points) “Ha, ha, ha!”
(The Real audience laughs)
Loni: I was like, “Grr!” (Shakes her fist) He saw me, he said, “I think you’re beautiful!”
Adrienne: Exactly! Exactly!
