*Stephen A. Smith has once again clashed with LeBron James, this time accusing the Los Angeles Lakers star of holding a racial double standard in his treatment of journalists.
The ESPN personality revisited their ongoing feud during an appearance on “The Pivot Podcast” with Ryan Clark, months after cameras captured a tense exchange between the two during a Lakers–Knicks game in March. According to The Daily Mail, Smith stated that the confrontation originated from remarks he made about James’s son, Bronny. The commentator insisted he was unfairly portrayed as attacking a child, calling the accusation unfounded.
“Anybody with professional ethics, who knows sports and knows what comes with it knows that I did not do anything wrong to that young man. But to paint me as somebody that would attack a child, just because I dislike you, it’s low, it’s low,” Smith said.
Stephen A Smith says LeBron James doesn’t keep the same energy he has with him with white journalist:
“You ever see LeBron go at a white boy like he did with me ?? Let’s call it like it is the only time he did was when he was making fun of Brian Windhorst who supported him… pic.twitter.com/E04jl4XDze

He then suggested that James treats members of the media differently depending on their race. “You ever see LeBron go at a White boy? Let’s call it what it is. You ever see him do that? You’ll say you saw him come at me,” Smith remarked. “Closest you ever came to seeing him do something like that [to a white journalist] was when he called out Brian Windhorst.”
The sports analyst defended his previous commentary about Bronny and said he would be “better ready and better prepared” if another confrontation with LeBron occurred.
This dispute is the latest chapter in their strained relationship. Smith previously labeled James a “liar” and a “bully,” while James mocked him on “The Pat McAfee Show,” saying, “He is on a Taylor Swift tour run right now.” In August, Smith declared on Gil’s Arena livestream, “He doesn’t like me, and I don’t like him… if I never, ever speak to him again in life, that will be OK. And I’m good with it.”
