*Star Jones stepped back onto “The View” set on January 29, revisiting the program she helped launch in its earliest days.
Jones’s visit highlighted a crucial personal anniversary. “15 years ago, open heart surgery,” she noted during her appearance, per Hello Magazine. The 63-year-old lawyer and media figure underwent the life-saving procedure in 2010 to address issues stemming from an operation performed years earlier targeting a thoracic tumor.
“The American Heart Association is my passion and my purpose,” she noted before sharing critical health data. “It’s the number one killer of women, it’s the number one killer of all Americans, each one of us at this table has had somebody touched by cardiovascular disease,” she continued. “And I’ve been a national volunteer since the day they took me out of the hospital.”

Jones has dedicated fifteen years to promoting cardiovascular wellness across the nation. “15 years that I’ve been advocating for men and women around this country for healthier lives when it comes to heart health,” Star added, pushing viewers to “know your numbers, find out what your blood pressure is, get that BMI down” and acquire CPR training.
Jones became visibly emotional while discussing her mission. “I’m here to talk about American Heart Association 24/7 because they saved my life,” she stated.
Her television journey with “The View” began when the program launched in 1997 and continued through the 2005-06 broadcast season. Jones competed on the fourth season of “The Celebrity Apprentice” in 2011, finishing in fifth place among the sixteen contestants. She has been presiding over “Divorce Court” since 2022.
