The business venture will find Biles aligned with partners such as Dallas-based veteran restaurateur Mark Brezinski and the Playmakers Group. The organization is noted for operating several airport restaurants that are celebrity- or athlete-themed.
The Playmakers’s website notes the restaurant’s goal of offering sports fans the chance to dine “in what feels like the living room of [their] favorite star” or sports icon. For IAH, Taste of Gold is an asset that aims to provide a “five-star experience,” with promises of exceptional customer service and food that helps highlight Houston as a “premier, world-class destination.”
Biles’ fellow food lovers will take comfort in knowing that more is set to come. A coming soon promotional mural including a picture the airport posted on X (formerly Twitter) shows what looks to be a shadow of the sports icon/restauranteur tumbling in front of an American flag.
Biles’ love for food has been known for a good bit, with her putting her appreciation of Houston’s dining scene voiced to Eater Houston, particularly the city’s Tex-Mex scene and restaurants like the Breakfast Klub, Perry’s Steakhouse, Tewbeleaux’s, and Whataburger.
