*Broadway in Hollywood hosts the hilarious Tony Award® winning musical Shucked now through September 7th 2025 at the Hollywood Pantages.
The show is set-in small-town USA where the main crop is corn, the simple life prevails and without thriving corn crops, there would be no life at all.
Wrap that concept around aspirations of love, temptations of greed and the fear of agricultural peril and you’ve got Shucked.
The roles are filled with a charming cast of singing and dancing superstars who bring to life a “superb book” (New York Post) by Tony Award winner Robert Horn, a toe tapping score by Grammy Award winners and Nashville music luminaries Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally and you’ve got yourself a real good time.
Three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien is director. He leaves no comedic hull unpeeled for a night at the theatre that is just plain funny.
The show is filled with zingers and one liners steeped in hay and faux stalks of dying corn.
Danielle Wade as Maizy leads her vocal renditions evoking a blend of Tammy Wynette, Reba Macintyre and Carrie Underwood.
Mikki Abraham’s Lulu is a saucy, vampy, tangy, country delight with Broadway flair.
Tyler Joseph Ellis and Maya Lagerstam are delightful as Storyteller 1 and 2.

Mike Nappi’s Peanut is the classic dim-witted sage that guarantees a crack up every time he speaks. Jake Odmark (as Beau) and Quinn VanAntwerp (as Gordy) trade off between Southern charm and city slick as the objects of Maizy’s affections.
Everybody’s got chops here, not as in pork but as in pure vocal ability. The show is filled with puns, so a review plagued with multiple double entendres is a fitting appetizer to lure fans to book the tickets and see for yourselves.
The cast also includes Zakiya Baptiste, Mackenzie Bell, Carly Caviglia, Cecily Dionne Davis, Ryan Fitzgerald, Sean Casey Flanagan, Jackson Goad, Erick Pinnick, Nick Raynor, Celeste Rose, Kyle Sherman and Chani Wereley.
Shucked has an heir of yesterday’s humor, reminiscent of Hee Haw meets Laugh In, where it pays to get dressed up and laugh out loud. Amidst the laughter, the show is not without a substantive message.
Shucked is the new musical comedy that proves sometimes tearing down a few walls, rather than growing them, is the only way to preserve our way of life. Shucked is turning musical theater on its ear and is offering a kernel of hope for our divided nation.

Opening night in Hollywood is always an added treat. Star Gazers would catch a glimpse of Jason Alexander, Marc Summers, Jane Fonda and more.
Tickets for Shucked are available for purchase in Los Angeles at www.BroadwayInHollywood.com or www.Ticketmaster.com. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre.
The Shucked North American tour opened on August 12th at San Diego Civic Theatre, CA and is currently playing in 27 cities including Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles.
