*Shaquille O’Neal has responded to recent speculation surrounding his personal life, dismissing rumors about alleged inappropriate relationships as nothing more than clickbait. The 53-year-old NBA legend addressed the controversy after social media posts sparked questions about his connection to a friend’s wife.
As PEOPLE reports, O’Neal appeared unbothered by the rumors, stating: “My favorite thing is always saying, ‘image is reality.'”
The controversy began when Instagram accounts posted an image showing O’Neal with a woman identified as Monique Martin. One account described the photo as Shaq surprising “another man’s wife with a visit.” Martin captioned her post: “My favorite guy is back in town and of course he stopped by to see his favorite people!!” She added, “Class act always, which is why I love seeing that face pop in!!!”
O’Neal responded to the gossip about the post, writing: “Yes my boys wife.” He continued: “I can tell yall site is broke and need money nice try this is the reason yall always gonna b a broke blog. Thanks for making me more money though #dummies.”

The NBA icon clarified his position on boundaries, saying: “Listen, everybody wants their page to be famous, I understand it. You have to understand, you don’t go to people’s wives. That’s something you just don’t do.” He added: “I’m 53, so I’m done with all that.”
O’Neal was married to Shaunie Henderson from 2002 to 2009, and the former couple share four children. In past interviews, he has publicly taken responsibility for the marriage ending due to his infidelity. In her memoir, Shaunie confessed that she didn’t love him during their relationship.
