*Remy Ma has decided to go public about her acclaimed marriage to fellow rapper Papoose. On Tuesday (May 20), Remy took to Instagram Live to offer some details leading to the end of her marriage, adding that the truth behind their marriage would leave fans in tears.
“I’ve never breathed so freely,” said the Bronx native, referring to her decision to part ways with Papoose.
“I couldn’t take it anymore. I said, ‘Hey, this isn’t what it is. You can’t keep doing this.’”
She then added that people would cry if they knew the truth.
“I feel sorry for ol’ girl. I feel sorry for her because I know the circles that are being run and wrapped around over there. I would cry. I feel bad.”

When some of her fans questioned her silence during the livestream concerning the particular behavior by Papoose that she was seemingly alluding to, she responded immediately.
“How am I going out sad? Because I’m not sitting here telling you everything that happened in a marriage?” she shot back at her critics. “If you’ve never been married, you wouldn’t understand the bond that’s supposed to be between two people. You wouldn’t understand that.”
The duo married in 2008, soon after Remy began serving time for a 2007 shooting incident. The couple was an inspiration to many in those days; the more they stood by each other through her incarceration, the more they symbolized resilience and loyalty in hip-hop. They welcomed their daughter in 2018.
Then, surprisingly and oddly enough, cracks began to appear in 2024. Each accused the other of infidelity. Remy accused Papoose of cheating on her with boxing champion Claressa Shields, while he accused him of doing the same to him with battle rapper Eazy The Block Captain.
