*Warner Bros. has unveiled the official trailer for “Practical Magic 2,” reuniting Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as the beloved Owens sisters nearly three decades after the original film debuted.
Bullock and Kidman return as Sally and Gillian Owens, descendants of a powerful family line burdened by a centuries-old curse that has long complicated their search for love.
The sequel picks up 25 years after the events of the 1998 film. This time, the story centers in part on Sally’s daughter, played by Joey King, as she begins uncovering long-buried secrets about the Owens family while confronting a darkness growing inside her.
As those discoveries mount, the Owens women find themselves drawn into a multigenerational crisis. The journey eventually takes Sally, Gillian and their aunts from their home in Massachusetts to Britain, where they must confront the origins of their family’s magic.

Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing reprise their roles alongside Bullock and Kidman. New cast members include Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod.
Susanne Bier directs the sequel. The filmmaker previously collaborated with Bullock on “Bird Box” and recently helmed “The Perfect Couple.” Bullock, Kidman, and Denise Di Novi, who produced the original film, also serve as producers on the new installment.
Released in 1998, “Practical Magic” adapted Alice Hoffman’s novel, underperformed at the box office during its initial run. It steadily developed a devoted following in the years that followed. That enduring fan enthusiasm helped transform “Practical Magic” into a cult favorite and paved the way for the long-awaited sequel.
“Practical Magic 2” is scheduled to open in theaters worldwide on Sept. 11. Watch the official trailer above.
