*Omar Gooding recently released a diss track titled “Fix Ya Mouth,” in response to comments made by rapper Cam’ron during an interview with 50 Cent on It Is What It Is.
Cam’ron claimed that Gooding, brother of fellow actor Cuba Gooding, and other Black actors rely on influential figures like 50 Cent to land acting jobs.
“No disrespect to nobody I’m talking about like Ving Rhames, you sitting around, or Omar Gooding Jr., y’all n##### sitting around. I would have saved my money and shot my own s### by now, but the Black actor has to sit around for a 50 Cent or somebody in your lane to come pick them up to actually do a to put them in something,” Cam’ron said.
His remarks prompted Gooding to defend his career in entertainment, which started in the early 1990s as the host of Nickelodeon’s “Wild & Crazy Kids.” He received praise for his role as “Sweetpea” in the 2001 film “Baby Boy.” More recently, Gooding appeared as a regular on the Bounce TV sitcom “Family Time” and starred on Disney Channel’s “Saturdays” in 2023.
“Not a fan of the word ‘Diss.’ I just respond when my name is brought up, even if it’s pronounced ignorantly like by adding a Jr.,” Gooding explained on Instagram. “I’ve got a WHOLE LOT to say… time to speak up. This record is simply a teaser, but it’s gotten y’all attention, so buckle up!”

Cam’ron responded to the song in the comments of Omar’s Instagram post. “Lo[l] my bad bro. I don’t want no smoke,” he wrote along with a face-palm and laughing emojis.
