*Nicki Minaj is taking aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom, delivering sharp criticism about his social media behavior during an appearance on Katie Miller’s podcast.
The rapper’s complaints focus heavily on what she perceives as the governor’s failed efforts to replicate President Donald Trump’s communication approach. She accused Newsom of losing focus on what matters most. “With Newscum, it’s the fact that with everything you said, but then having the audacity to be playing on Twitter, obsessed with Trump, trying to be Trump, trying to be funny when it’s not and then wanting to roll around in the mud with female rappers or whomever and completely missing the plot,” Minaj said, FOX News reports.
Minaj suggested the governor should abandon his attempts to match Trump’s communication style. “But President Trump is already the president, get it?” she said. “He’s already done it twice. He’s won. Good. OK. Meanwhile, you are embarking on what — a journey that will end up being a big huge failure for him.”

The hip-hop star also took issue with Newsom’s online humor, claiming his jokes only appeal to “your assistant, you know, the weirdo little guy that calls Black women stupid h— and stuff.” That comment references a social media post from Newsom’s assistant, who shared an image showing Minaj’s T-shirt discarded in a garbage bin with the caption “Stupid H–,” taken from her 2012 song title.
Minaj also noted that she sought assistance from the governor’s office regarding swatting incidents at her residence. “And he completely ignored it, right? And next thing you know, he’s on there flapping his gums about female rap stuff and trying to get in women’s business. So I had to. I had to show him who’s boss on Twitter,” she stated.
A spokesperson for Newsom responded: “We wish Mrs. Minaj-Petty, her husband, and his parole officer well.”
