*Nia Long will reunite with her “Empire” co-star Terrence Howard in Sony’s big-screen romantic drama “Life In A Year,” starring Jaden Smith and Cara Delavigne.
Currently filming in Toronto, the film follows 17-year-old Daryn (Smith) whose girlfriend Isabelle (Delavigne) is diagnosed with cancer. He sets out on a mission to make the most of the little time they have left together.
Long will play Catherine, the spouse of Howard’s no-nonsense patriarch and the supportive mother of Daryn, according to Deadline.com.
The project also reunites Long with her on-screen “Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” boyfriend Will Smith, whose Overbrook Entertainment is producing the Mitja Okorn-directed film.
As well as playing scheming club owner Giuliana on Fox’s “Empire” this season, Long also starred opposite Idina Menzel in Lifetime’s “Beaches” remake that aired in January, and appears this year in the Sundance pics “Lemon” and “Roxanne Roxanne.”
