*LeBron James called out Cleveland Browns fans for booing quarterback Deshaun Watson after he sustained an Achilles injury during Sunday’s game. The team announced after halftime that he would not be returning to the game.
In a tweet, LeBron criticized the fans for showing disrespect to an injured player. “Cleveland Fans! Yall know how much we’ve been thru throughout the years both good, bad and indifferent,” the LA Lakers star wrote. “With that being said booing anyone that’s down with an injury let alone your own player is LAME AF!! To the ones who didn’t ?”
Watson’s teammates also called out fans for their bad manners.
“We don’t boo guys that are injured on the field, especially when the cart comes out. We should be ashamed of ourselves, as Browns and as fans, to boo anyone in their downfall,” Browns’ defensive end Myles Garrett said after the game.

Watson, 29, faced numerous lawsuits from women accusing him of sexual assault or harassment. Despite attempts to put the matter behind him, fans continue to be unforgiving.
“To be season-altering, career-altering injury, the man’s not perfect, he doesn’t need to be. None of us expect to be perfect. Can’t judge him for what he does on the field or off the field because I can’t throw stones from my glass house, but we need to do better. No one deserves that,” Myles added.
“I am very upset with the reaction to a man that has had the world against him for the past four years and he put his body and his life on the line for this city every single day,” backup quarterback Jameis Winston said, per The New York Times. “Regardless of your perception, regardless of what you thought should happen with him, he committed every single day that I’ve been here to be the best that he can be for this team.”
In 2022, Watson was suspended for 11 games after more than two dozen women accused him of sexual assault. He ultimately settled many of the lawsuits, SandraRose.com reports.
Meanwhile, The Blast reports that Watson is facing criticism for telling fans not to “judge Deshaun Watson for what he does off the field.”
“Myles I believe they were booing a sexual predator but I could be mistaken,” one social media user said.
“Imagine defending a man with 30+ SA accusations,” another added.
“Maybe Deshaun shouldn’t touch women inappropriately 20 times if he wants to be respected by people,” a third critic wrote.
“Pretty sure they were booing a predator,” one fan commented under the post-game press conference shared on Instagram.
