Other times, it’s like, ‘Oh my God, take my skin off.’”
The clash becomes comedic when she stirs at 3 a.m. and suspects sabotage. “Did you touch the thermostat? You touched it, didn’t you?” she’ll ask Barack, only to hear him insist, “I didn’t, I swear.” Michelle prefers a brisk 68 °F and teases that her solution is simply telling the former commander-in-chief to put on socks.
The lighthearted story arrives as online whispers recycle claims that the Obamas have secretly separated and are waiting for the right moment to announce a divorce. Anonymous “insiders” describe it as an “open secret,” while social-media sleuths even roped actress Jennifer Aniston into the gossip. Aniston dismissed the chatter on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, saying she’d only met Barack once and quipping, “I was not mad at it,” while calling the rumor “absolutely untrue.”

Sources close to the Obamas dismiss divorce rumors and say Michelle is simply enjoying life beyond the White House. On Poehler’s podcast, she emphasized her wish to reclaim everyday experiences, explaining, “I want to try to do normal things… I want to feel like I’m by myself.”
She now relishes solo drives, “I’m driving a little bit more by myself… in the car by myself”
She also recalled the intense scrutiny in the public eye: “The eight years, even beyond, the stakes were so high. And Barack and I, our team, we felt like we didn’t have room to get anything wrong.”
Turning 60 has eased that pressure: “I can be loose. I can stutter. I can misspeak sometimes, even though I’m sure that will make the news,” Obama said.
“I just feel like there’s room to breathe. And maybe some of that is my age. Maybe some of that is that now that I’m in my 60s, what more do I have to prove? Let’s just live. Let’s just talk,” she added.
