*Megan Thee Stallion has officially stepped into restaurant ownership with the opening of her first Popeyes location in Miami. The Grammy-winning rapper debuted the South Beach restaurant on New Year’s Eve, closing out the year with a major entrepreneurial milestone.
The Houston native has been sharing her journey toward franchise ownership with fans for months. In April, she posted a behind-the-scenes look at the unfinished restaurant, offering a walkthrough of the construction site on TikTok and Instagram. “Ok, so today we are visiting my Popeyes before it opens,” she said in the video, adding, “It’s just bones, but in a few months, it will be chickens.”
Megan’s connection to Popeyes began in 2021, when she partnered with the brand to launch the Hottie Sauce. The sweet-and-spicy condiment collaboration also included limited-edition merchandise and marked her first step into the restaurant business. “Look what I got. That’s how you catch a hottie,” she said at the time while showing off the sauce.

The Miami location officially welcomed customers following a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month, which Megan attended in person. She shared her excitement on social media, writing, “Prepping Thee Hot Staff before THEE OFFICIAL FIRST EVER MEGAN THEE STALLION POPEYES OPENED I’m so excited, so proud, and I just feel so much gratitude! Hottiessss I’m officially a franchise owner.” She added, “Come to South Beach Miami and dine with us.”
Footage from the opening showed Megan greeting staff members, interacting with fans, and even stepping behind the counter to serve food. Addressing employees, she said, “This is going to be a great experience for me,” and added, “I hope this is a fun job. I hope everyone’s having a blast.”
She also emphasized the culture she hopes to build at the restaurant. “This is the first Megan Thee Stallion Popeyes. I just want to lead with love. I want everyone to lead with kindness. I don’t like that mean s—t.”
Megan previously spoke about what the partnership represents for her future. “I’m appreciative of Popeyes’ commitment to empowering Black women and look forward to opening Popeyes restaurants,” she said in a 2021 statement. “Teaming up with Popeyes is such a milestone in my journey and evolution as an entrepreneur.”
