*The start of Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ trial won’t be the only thing making news on May 05. The rap mogul’s former Bad Boy Records artist Ma$e will make his long-awaited return to rap with a triple album the same day.
WTLC cites a recent episode of the “Tell Me What You Want” rhymer’s “It Is What It Is” podcast, where he spilled the tea on his forthcoming release.
During the episode, Ma$e revealed to former football player Maurice Clarett that he and his IIWII co-host Cam’ron are working on the project together.
The Diplomats leader is helping Ma$e pick and choose which songs will make it for the album
“I’m listening to the songs that Killa picked out of the stuff I made,” the “Welcome Back” entertainer stated on IIWII’s March 7 episode.

As for when fans will hear the album, Ma$e showed no reluctance on the release date.
“May 5. The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping,” he confirmed. “You like that? You made me put it out there. I wasn’t going to put that out there, but Mo, you made me.”
Whether or not Ma$e intended to let news of the album “slip” is debatable. The bottom line is new music is on the way on a date he knows his former label boss will be facing the music for charges related to assault and sex trafficking. The question is will any of the music touch on Diddy and his legal drama or will he keep it focused on him and what’s going on in his world.
That fact that Diddy’s trial will actually start on May 5 could be a factor in Ma$e possibly moving his album release up to better send a message to the embattled hip-hop fixture. Add in a throwback to when double albums were common from rappers and his choice in making his album a triple sized affair so things can be “even” and it’s going to be interesting mid-2025.
Either way, Ma$e’s return will be something to watch, no matter what.
