*A high-stakes legal showdown is brewing between “Love Island” 2023 stars Lochan Nowacki and Whitney Adebayo. The 27-year-old Nowacki has launched a defamation and malicious falsehood lawsuit against his former partner at London’s High Court, following accusations of racial slurs.
As The Daily Mail reports, Adebayo, 27, alleged in a TikTok video viewed 3.5 million times that Nowacki called her skin “dirty” while they walked back from lunch. She also claimed his mother, Kulminder, made a racially charged remark, saying, “where’s Whit gone? Whit, smile” when the lights went out at their home.
Nowacki denied the allegations. In a statement, he said: “A series of posts have been released making defamatory comments about my family, friends and I. I never wanted things to reach this stage, and I did try to take this situation through to resolution. I felt I was left with no other choice but to take this course of action.”
He emphasized that the lawsuit aims to protect his reputation, stating, “Taking this step was not about taking anything from Whitney, it’s about clearing the serious reputational damage that has been caused to me and my family.”
Adebayo’s spokeswoman declared, “Whitney has instructed her own legal team and is very confident in her position. If any claim is issued by Mr Nowacki, it will be vigorously defended.”

The ex-couple, once favorites to win “Love Island” before finishing second to Sammy Root and Jess Harding, split in April and have since clashed online.
The case, dubbed “Love Island’s Wagatha Christie” by insiders, is set to begin soon, with Nowacki’s mother also named in the action. Nowacki insists he wants closure, saying, “More than anything, I want to close this down and for us both to move forward separately.”
