
*Lori Harvey makes her acting debut in “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist,” a new crime drama that debuted Thursday on Peacock.
The series is inspired by a true story that takes place in the ’70s and centers around a heist that occurs the night of Muhammad Ali’s return to boxing.
Here’s the official synopsis: Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, based on the acclaimed iHeart true-crime podcast, follows the infamous story of how an armed robbery on the night of Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight changed not only one man’s life but ultimately transformed Atlanta into the “Black Mecca.” When a hustler named Chicken Man (Kevin Hart) hosts an afterparty to celebrate the fight with a guest list of the country’s wealthiest, the night ends with the most brazen criminal underworld heist in Atlanta’s history. Suspected of masterminding the crime, Chicken Man is hellbent on clearing his name but must convince his old adversary, J.D. Hudson (Don Cheadle), one of the first Black detectives in the city’s desegregated police force, who is tasked with bringing those responsible to justice.
Samuel L. Jackson (“Frank Moten”) leads the cast the includes Taraji P. Henson (“Vivian Thomas”), Don Cheadle (“JD Hudson”), and Terrence Howard (“Cadillac Richie”). Key guest stars include Lori as Lola Falana, Chloe Bailey (“Lena Mosley”), Marsha Stephanie Blake (“Delores Hudson”), Dexter Darden (“Muhammad Ali”), and Sinqua Walls (“McKinley Rogers”).
During a recently aired interview with Today With Hoda & Jenna, Harvey revealed that she kept her role in the series a secret from her stepfather, Steve Harvey, The Jasmine Brand reports.

“My dad actually didn’t find out until I showed up at the house in Atlanta to film. He was like, ‘What are you doing home?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, I’m acting.’ [He said] ‘Acting in what?’ And I was like ‘A real TV show.’ So he was so shocked.”
Lori said Steve “was so excited for me. He was like ‘Ok, this is the real deal, you got to focus, this is big.”

The first three episodes of “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” debuted Thursday, September 5, on Peacock with new episodes every Thursday through October 10, 2024.
