*Lil Yachty has found himself at the center of controversy following his recent appearance on Feeding Starving Celebrities, where he openly criticized the Black Lives Matter movement.
During the episode, the rapper declared, “BLM was literally a scam,” referencing financial concerns tied to the organization’s leadership, Baller Alert reports.
Yachty pointed specifically to reports that BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors purchased a $6 million mansion in 2020, allegedly using money meant for activism efforts. Yachty’s comments quickly went viral, prompting a response from the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation. In a statement to Fox News, the organization accused him of promoting harmful rhetoric, saying, “It’s clear Lil Yachty has been drinking the white supremacist ideology Kool-Aid. His comments are wrong, misinformed, and crafted to please those who profit from Black suffering.”
BLM went on to defend its work, pushing back against accusations of financial mismanagement.

“The real scam isn’t Black Lives Matter. It is watching Black artists with massive platforms recycle the same tired attacks on Black movements while ignoring the actual systems killing us.”

“Black Lives Matter has supported Black families who have lost loved ones to police violence. We have built programs, funded mutual aid, and fought in courtrooms and on the streets to protect our people.”
