*Bronny James‘ entry into the NBA with the LA Lakers has sparked mixed reactions, with Jason Whitlock stating on his podcast that LeBron James manipulated his son’s opportunity.
Whitlock suggested that LeBron turned Bronny into a “Make-a-Wish” case, implying he lacks the necessary talent for the NBA.
“LeBron James has turned his son into the Make-A-Wish kid. And everybody in the media is going to play along. Everybody is going to play along, like, not everybody, because we’re not. And some,” Whitlock said. “There are a handful of people calling this out, but you’ve turned your son into the Make-A-Wish kid.“
In the comments of Jason’s post, one X user wrote, “We have a Make-A-Wish president so a basketball player is definitely no big deal.
Another added, “It’s a lot of pressure for a kid who may just not be there yet. Lebron is determined to make him “mini-me” instead of let him develop into Bronny. Kinda sad.”

Meanwhile, we reported earlier that LeBron has expressed that his son’s mental fortitude is already at a professional level. In a revealing interview with ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers star shared insights into Bronny’s resolute attitude towards external opinions.
“Bronny doesn’t give a f*** about any of the outside noise,” LeBron said. “He plays, he works his tail off, and when he goes home, he plays video games.”
LeBron reflected on his emotions during his early career and the criticism he encountered.
“I actually cared a little bit when I came in. I wanted people to like me. Some of the things people were saying about me kind of bothered me early on in my career. I let it get to me. Bronny does not care,” he continued. “He doesn’t even listen to that stuff. He’s like the complete opposite of his dad.”
