*Lamar Odom says the night he signed divorce papers with Khloe Kardashian led to one of the most dangerous moments of his life. The former NBA star recently revisited the events surrounding his 2015 hospitalization, describing how the evening unfolded while he was in Las Vegas.
Speaking on the “Locked In” podcast, Odom explained that he went out partying after finalizing the paperwork. He recalled being frustrated earlier that night, saying, “I remember being upset that he didn’t have any cocaine to take to the brothel.” Odom said he did not knowingly take drugs himself and believes something may have been placed in his drink without his knowledge.
According to Odom, he later learned drugs were present in his system after waking up in the hospital. “I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks. How the f**k I get here?” he said, noting that he was unable to walk or speak for an extended period.

Odom detailed the physical toll of his recovery and the humiliation he felt during that time. “I had to learn. I couldn’t hold my bowels,” he said. “You talk about being humbled… I gotta get my f**king diaper changed every three to four hours ’cause I can’t even hold my bowels. I gotta learn how to walk.”
During an appearance on “The Kyle & Jackie O Show” in 2025, Odom reiterated his belief that the substances entered his body without his awareness. “I don’t know what they were able to slip into my drink or what,” he said. “When I woke up, I couldn’t walk or talk.”
Odom reflected on the medical improbability of his survival during the “Locked In” podcast appearace. “It’s kind of medically impossible to have 12 strokes and six heart attacks and survive,” he said. “I’m probably here for a reason. To tell people my story. I guess hopefully it changes their lives.”
