*Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson showed his no-nonsense side when a fan in New York City probed him about Tory Lanez, the rapper convicted of shooting Thompson’s partner, Megan Thee Stallion, in 2020.
In a viral video, the fan trailed Thompson, asking, “Bro, how do you feel about Tory Lanez coming home?” The NBA champion, visibly irritated, shot back, “Bro, get away from me,” before continuing down the Manhattan sidewalk.
The confrontation stemmed from false online rumors claiming Lanez, who is serving a 10-year sentence, had been released early. The Lanez mention struck a nerve, given his history with Megan. Convicted in 2023 on felony charges, including assault with a firearm, Lanez is eligible for parole in 2029.
Thompson, 35, and Megan Thee Stallion, 30, confirmed their relationship in July 2025, captivating fans with their public appearances. A June Bahamas vacation photo, a gala outing, and a July 19 gym workout video showcased their chemistry. Additionally, a TikTok of Megan unboxing Labubu dolls gifted by Thompson, who called her “baby,” further highlighted their bond.
Despite their affection, skepticism surrounds the couple’s future. On “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” Shaquille O’Neal predicted their romance would fizzle in “six weeks.” Guest Mike Tyson noted that Klay deserves “staying power” credit if the relationship endures. Social media echoed doubts, with one Instagram user writing, “Klay is a settled and laid back man….she may be a lot for him!”
