*Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner have taken legal action against Ray J, accusing him of defamation for alleging they are under federal investigation for racketeering.
According to PEOPLE, the lawsuit was brought forward by attorney Alex Spiro, who stressed the gravity of the situation. “Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have never brought a defamation claim before nor have they been distracted by noise – but this false and serious allegation left no choice.”
According to the complaint, Ray J made defamatory remarks on two occasions. In the Tubi documentary United States vs. Sean Combs, he said, “If you told me the Kardashians was being charged for racketeering, I might believe it.” Later, during a livestream on September 24, he allegedly claimed that federal prosecutors were pursuing racketeering charges against the Kardashians. Spiro characterized these remarks as the “most malicious defamatory conduct.”

The lawsuit further argues that Ray J “has engaged in a sustained campaign of harassment and defamation” toward Kardashian and Jenner “for more than two decades.” Spiro links this behavior back to Ray J’s short-lived romance with Kardashian, which ended in 2005, two years before the infamous sex tape surfaced. As the filing puts it: “Unable to accept the end of his fleeting relationship with Ms. Kardashian over twenty years ago, Ray J has repeatedly sought to attach himself to Plaintiffs’ names and exploit their prominence for personal gain.”
The filing denies Ray J’s allegations outright. “Ray J’s public statements are blatantly false,” Spiro declares.
“No such federal investigation exists; no law enforcement agency has initiated any criminal proceedings or investigations related to racketeering charges against Ms. Kardashian or Ms. Jenner; and no credible evidence whatsoever supports these inflammatory allegations.” The lawsuit adds that Ray J made these claims as if they were verified facts, showing “reckless disregard for the truth under the actual malice standard.”
Ray J’s allegations surfaced during a recent livestream with Chrisean Rock, where he warned, “the feds are coming” and claimed a potential case against Kardashian and Jenner could overshadow other high-profile legal matters. Federal racketeering cases, typically conducted under the RICO Act, are shrouded in secrecy, and public disclosures are rare due to strict confidentiality rules. Spiro argues that Ray J’s reliance on “unsubstantiated assertions” without credible sources demonstrates “a fundamental disregard for truth and a willful intent to harm Plaintiffs’ reputations.”
