The event is scheduled for May 16 at UNO’s Lakefront Arena and promises to combine local culture, live performances, culinary experiences, and family-friendly activities into a single celebration, Complex reports. Attendees can expect a variety of attractions, including a Food Village, live music, carnival-style experiences, and an obstacle course designed for families.
The Food Village, personally curated by Lee, will showcase independently owned restaurants and vendors, offering festival-goers a taste of New Orleans’ rich culinary scene while supporting local businesses.

Lee said the festival was inspired by the warmth and hospitality he and his family experienced during previous visits to the city. “New Orleans showed my family and me so much love and that stayed with me,” he said. “Familee Day is my way of giving that love back, bringing people together, supporting local businesses, and celebrating the culture and food that makes New Orleans so special.”
The music lineup features artists across genres and generations, including Kirk Franklin, Mannie Fresh, Tobe Nwigwe, and Andra Day. Additional performers include La Reezy, Ha Sizzle, Shamar, Subtweet Shawn, Rude Jude, DJ Arie Spins, Neace Robinson, DJ RBD, and DJ Keith Scott. Kevin ‘KevOnStage’ Fredericks, the comedian and content creator, will host the event.
Produced in partnership with Live Nation Urban and Morrow Hospitality, general ticket sales for Familee Day begin February 10 at 10 a.m. CT, through the official website.
