*TikTok food critic Keith Lee faced backlash in Washington, D.C., after expressing disappointment with the local cuisine, stating that most of the food he tried was alcohol focused.
“Out of those 12, I probably only have one or two more that I’m going to post,” said Lee in a video to his online followers.
“And, there’s a reason for that. A lot of those videos, in my opinion, aren’t constructive at all,” he added.
Social media users had mixed but largely supportive reactions to Lee’s critique, with many understanding his disappointment while others defended D.C.’s food scene. Despite the controversy, a significant number of fans stood by Lee’s honest reviews.
One X user wrote, “So he’s being responsible with his platform & not using his influence to mess up restaurants owners livelihoods. Keith Lee keeping a positive platform is on brand & he shouldn’t be criticized for it.”

Another X user added, “Food critics travel the world and post their reviews positive or negative. I get that certain critics have big names & if they’re too critical of a restaurant it could hurt business, BUT THAT IS HOW THE FOOD INDUSTRY WORKS. Why should black food critics have to hide poor reviews to save the restaurant from humiliation when that’s not their responsibility? I hate this and I’ll take it a step further, I think Keith Lee is doing this to protect his own safety. I think he feels if he does his job and report his honest opinion on these places, there could be physical retaliation. Which is sad and pathetic in itself.”
In a separate TikTok video, Lee said “all the restaurants” in D.C. are “geared directly towards alcohol. If you don’t drink, it seems like it’s slim pickings. I’m talking about everything. Alcohol, bottomless, topless…I don’t drink, so I’m hungry.”

His criticism angered D.C. rapper Ant Glizzy, who responded with a threat against Lee on social media.
As Brobible reports, Lee’s brother, a former UFC fighter, addressed the threat, but Ant Glizzy appeared unfazed, claiming in a tweet that his own brother is a “known assassin.”
One X user replied to Ant Glizzy’s post, writing, “Professional assassin and still ain’t sh*t or known ?”
Another added, “yo brother a b*tch ni**a.”
A third commented, “Why you mad about another ni**a opinion.”
