*Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions have officially unveiled the chilling teaser trailer for “HIM,” a psychological horror-thriller that twists the classic sports underdog story into a nightmarish descent into obsession, manipulation, and identity loss.
Starring Marlon Wayans in a dramatic turn unlike anything he’s done before, “HIM” follows Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers), a college football phenom on the verge of NFL superstardom–until a brutal, unexpected attack leaves him with a potentially career-ending brain injury. When all hope seems lost, a mysterious opportunity arises: training with his idol, eight-time champion quarterback Isaiah White (Wayans), at a secluded compound far from the public eye.
What begins as a dream mentorship soon warps into a psychological horror, as Isaiah’s charisma gives way to something much more sinister. As Cameron’s body is pushed beyond its limits and his mind begins to unravel, the film questions how far someone would go—and what they’d be willing to lose–to be the greatest of all time.
Julia Fox co-stars as Isaiah’s influencer wife, Elsie White, with support from Tim Heidecker, comedian Jim Jefferies, and newcomers including MMA fighter Maurice Greene and music artists Guapdad 4000 and Grammy-nominated Tierra Whack in their feature film debuts.

Directed by Justin Tipping (“Kicks”) from a Black List-approved script by Zack Akers, Skip Bronkie, and Tipping, “HIM” is the latest project from Peele’s acclaimed Monkeypaw Productions–the studio behind “Get Out.” “Us,” “Candyman,” and “Nope”. The film is produced by Ian Cooper, Peele, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson, with executive producers David Kern and Monkeypaw’s Kate Oh.
“HIM” promises to be a bold, genre-bending exploration of fame, identity, and the cost of greatness, adding a uniquely terrifying entry into Peele’s growing canon of modern horror.
The movie opens in theaters nationwide on September 19. Watch the teaser above.
