*Rapper Flavor Flav gifted Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles a bronze clock during the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in New York on Wednesday.
The move came a month after she was stripped of an Olympic bronze medal in floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Games. Olympian Simone Biles showed support for Chiles on Instagram amid the controversy, writing, “Sending you so much love Jordan. Keep your chin up Olympic champ! We love you!”
Ice skating Olympian Adam Rippon also reacted to the ruling in a TikTok video, stating, “If someone called me after the official results and podium and told me that I have to give back the bronze medal. From my cold dead hands, okay? I’d be on a flight back to LAX, that thing would be in a safe, you’d never see it again.”
Flavor Flav took to X and vowed to gift Chiles a one-of-a-kind clock necklace, he announced on X/Twitter. The hip-hop icon, known for wearing clock chains, fulfilled his promise at this week’s VMAs.

“I know they tried to take your medal away from you, but you know what? I got you something that they can’t take away from you,” Flavor Flav said before unveiling the gold pendant. After hanging it around Chiles’ neck, she said, “Wow. I don’t even know what to say here.”

Meanwhile, Chiles attended the Forbes Power Women’s Summit this week and reacted to being stripped of her Olympic bronze medal.
“The biggest thing that was taken from me was… the recognition of who I was. Not just my sport, but the person I am,” Chiles said, USA Today reports.
“It’s not about the medal,” she added. “It’s about my skin color. It’s about the fact there were things that have led up to this position of being an athlete. And I felt like everything has been stripped. I felt like when I was back in 2018 where I did lose the love of the sport, I lost it again.”
