Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jennifer Garner in “The Last Thing He Told Me,” premiering February 20, 2026 on Apple TV.
*This month, Apple TV gathered the cast of “The Last Thing He Told Me,” to share their thoughts on the new season.
In season two, when Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) shows up after five years on the run, Hannah (Jennifer Garner) and her stepdaughter Bailey (Angourie Rice) find themselves in a race to figure out how to reunite their family before the past catches up to them.
“The end of the first book is a huge cliffhanger,” expressed Garner about what questions she hopes her character answers in the news season. “Owen shows up and then leaves. Why did he show up? What could it mean? All of that is answered, and more. Have you heard of this term, “competency porn”? [It means] we’re so hungry for grown-ups to be competent and smart and have integrity and do what they’re supposed to do. Hannah does that for me. She has prepared everything for every eventuality, all to keep Bailey safe. So, watching as the penny drops and Hannah realizes the danger they’re in, watching those actions fall into place, and watching her take one step after the other and include Bailey in this grand escape is, really gratifying. What did I want to happen? I wanted Owen to come back. I wanted them to live happily ever after in a safe place. But that didn’t happen.”
Executive produced by Garner, the series returning stars include David Morse, and new additions Judy Greer and Rita Wilson.
The eight-episode second season will debut globally with the first episode on Friday, February 20, 2026, followed by one episode every Friday through April 10, 2026.
