*Jeannie Mai is offering an intimate look at how she rebuilt her life after her separation from rapper Jeezy.
In a new vlog posted Thursday (November 20), she reflected on the period following their turbulent breakup announced in 2023. The footage also spotlights moments with their 3-year-old daughter, Monaco Mai Jenkins. For Mai, the past two years have brought both hardship and unexpected clarity.
“It cracked me open and showed me everything that I’ve been trying to mask. I went through things that I wouldn’t wish on anybody,” she said. She described feeling destabilized by “the kind of pain that shakes your faith and makes you question everything,” adding, “A chapter of my life ended, one I once shared right here.” The experience, she explained, ultimately shifted her perspective in ways she never anticipated.
“And what looked like an ending became the awakening I never saw coming,” she continued in the vlog. She admitted that the process forced her to confront how far she had drifted from herself, saying she often “traded peace for making broken things look whole.” As life unraveled, she said, it “stripped me down until the only person left to meet was me.”

Mai credited her daughter for helping her stay grounded through the upheaval. Calling Monaco the person who refused to let her “forget” who she was, she said, “Seeing her run toward me, it pulled me right back into who I have been becoming.” Looking back, she added, “the two years I feared most became the years that saved me.”
“For years, I mistook chaos for love,” she said. Mai explained that rebuilding has brought a new sense of completeness, saying, “this is the first time I’ve truly felt whole.”
