Review: “Hoppers” is a furry, family‑friendly romp for the fur lover lurking in all of us. Grab your stuffies, grab your snacks, grab your kids and hop yourself into “Hoppers!” It’s visually striking, surprisingly grounded, sneaks in heartfelt moments—and still finds room for big set pieces and laughs.
*Disney and Pixar’s all-new animated comedy adventure “Hoppers,” follows animal lover Mabel (voice of Piper Curda) as she seizes an opportunity to use a new technology to ‘hop’ her consciousness into a life-like robotic beaver and communicate directly with animals. Mabel befriends charismatic beaver, King George (voice of Bobby Moynihan), and must rally the entire animal kingdom to face a major, imminent human-threat: smooth-talking local mayor Jerry Generazzo (voice of Jon Hamm).
Curda and Moynihan talked with us about their species personas and which scene was calamity behind the scenes.
Q: Which species in “Hoppers” is most like you in real life, secretly?
PC: Those birds at the beginning because they don’t shut up, and that’s my vibe. I can’t stop yapping. I feel so bad in all these interviews. I feel like someone is asking a question, and they have five minutes, and I take four minutes to answer it…
BM: I might be the bear, Ellen. I might just be a big lug but also slow.
Q: Which species wouldn’t you trust with your car keys?
BM: Mabel.
PC: Loaf. He’s losing those for sure.
BM: …At least he would be within a three-foot radius.
PC: He would be forgetful. He would be like, ‘OH! There’s a snack over there. Got to go take care of that. Wait, what was I supposed to be watching?’

Q: Which scene was calamity behind the scenes but looks regal on screen?
