*Hulu has unveiled the official trailer for the highly anticipated sixth and final season of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” promising an epic conclusion to the dystopian saga.
The Emmy-winning series, led by Elisabeth Moss, returns on April 8, launching with three episodes, followed by a weekly rollout leading to its May 27 finale.
Season five left viewers with a tense and unexpected ending, as June Osborne (Moss) and her longtime adversary, Serena Joy Waterford (Yvonne Strahovski), found themselves alone together on a train filled with Gilead refugees. Reflecting on the cliffhanger, Moss, who also serves as an executive producer and director, told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s actually a pretty positive ending for the show and the season, which we don’t usually do. It’s a cliffhanger … but there’s something positive about it. Of course, of all the people that would be on the train is this person who is her other half, the other half of this experience.”
As the show resumes after a two-year break, the trailer teases shifting alliances and looming conflicts with June taking up arms against the oppressive regime of Gilead. Watch the new trailer above and get ready for the thrilling conclusion of her fight for justice.

The final season’s logline hints at a dramatic conclusion:
June’s unyielding spirit and determination pull her back into the fight to take down Gilead. Luke and Moira join the resistance. Serena tries to reform Gilean while Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia reckon with what they wrought, and Nick faces challenging tests of character. This final chapter of June’s journey highlights the importance of hope, courage, solidarity and resilience in the pursuit of justice and freedom.
Returning cast members include Bradley Whitford, Ann Dowd, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Sam Jaeger, Ever Carradine, and Josh Charles. The series is produced by MGM Television, with Bruce Miller, Eric Tuchman, Yahlin Chang, and Moss among the executive producers.
As “The Handmaid’s Tale” comes to a close, fans can look forward to the next chapter in the Gilead universe with Hulu’s adaptation of “The Testaments,” based on Margaret Atwood’s sequel novel.
