*Flavor Flav is offering to host a special celebration in Las Vegas for the U.S. women’s hockey team following their gold medal win at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics on February 19.
According to PEOPLE, the invitation comes after the team chose not to attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. “If the USA Women’s Hockey team wants a real celebration and invite, I’ll host them in Las Vegas,” Flav, wrote on social media on February 23. “Do some nice dinners and shows and good times.” He added, “I’m sure I can get a hotel and airline to help me out here and celebrate these women for real for real. ??????”
A spokesperson for USA Hockey said the women’s team was “sincerely grateful for the invitation” to the State of the Union but could not attend due to “previously scheduled academic and professional commitments following the Games.”
During a congratulatory call following the men’s hockey team’s gold medal victory over Canada on February 22, Trump made a joking reference to the women’s team, saying, “You do know that. I do believe I’d probably would be impeached [if the women’s team wasn’t invited].”

Flavor Flav, who serves as the official hype man for the U.S. bobsled and skeleton team, has a history of celebrating women in sports. After the 2024 Summer Olympics, he hosted the U.S. women’s water polo team in Las Vegas and helped fund their efforts in Paris.
In a 2024 interview with PEOPLE, Flav explained his motivation for supporting women’s athletics: “There’s a lot of women, I’m saying that all they want is just a chance. And all they want to do is feel like they got a chance. So I just wanted to help out, and help give women that chance that they are looking for,” he said.
