*Martin Lawrence shared on the Big Boy’s Neighborhood podcast that Eddie Murphy said it’s his turn to cover the costs for their kids’ wedding.
We reported earlier that Martin’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, and Eddie’s son, Eric Murphy, are engaged after more than three years of dating. During an appearance on the Thursday (Dec. 5) episode of iHeartRadio’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Martin said Eddie is making him pay for their wedding because the “Beverly Hills Cop” star has already paid for numerous weddings for his other kids.
“Well, Eddie said I gotta pay for it,” Martin said on the radio show, PEOPLE reports. “He said I gotta pay for it ’cause he paid for his last daughter’s wedding, like the last six weddings.”
“He said it’s my turn now,” he continued.
Jasmin is Martin’s firstborn, whom he shares with his ex-wife Patricia Southall. He has two other daughters, Iyanna, 24, and Amara, 22, with his second wife, Shamicka Gibbs. Eddie has 10 children — six daughters and four sons, and Eric is his oldest with ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely.

Jasmin and Eric announced their engagement over the weekend in a video on Instagram which sees him getting down on one knee to propose to his lady love, The Huffington Post reports. The couple captioned the post: “11.27.2024. We’re engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter ❤️❤️.”
“Special thank you to everyone who made this moment so beautiful!!” they added.
