*Former CNN anchor Don Lemon is preparing to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2026 with his own independent livestream from New Orleans.
The event will be hosted on his YouTube channel, featuring a block party-style celebration on Frenchmen Street, with segments from music clubs d.b.a. and the Spotted Cat, NOLA.com reports. Lemon is well-known for his inebriated moments during previous New Year’s Eve broadcasts from New Orleans, which sparked the social media hashtag #DrunkDonLemon.
His live 2022 CNN broadcast included a now-viral rant where he defended himself against critics, saying, “I don’t give a — what you think about me, what do you think about that. I don’t care, I’m a grown-a** man, and I don’t care what you think about me.”

During that broadcast, Lemon argued that some of the criticism he receives stems from being a “successful Black man” in a prominent media role. “I am to be able to share my point of view on television and it freaks people out and you know what,” he said. “You can kiss my behind, I do not care. I don’t care. … I have one life. It is who I am, and I feel very … blessed and honored to be in this position, to be able to do this, for all of the hate I get, it’s motivation to me. Bring it. I don’t care.”
The 2022 broadcast also featured comedian Dulcé Sloan, who went viral for a playful exchange about dating standards, telling viewers there would be no more “broke d*ick,” prompting Lemon to ask, “No more what?” Sloan clarified, “Yes! No more penis from a man who has no money.”
She added, “To anyone who is acquiring male genitalia, it needs to be attached to someone who can also fly you to the Caribbean.”
Since leaving CNN in 2023, Lemon has been creating his own newscasts and live content online. He teased the upcoming livestream in a Facebook reel, saying he wanted “to go where people are warm, and they’re partying and having a great time, and that’s New Orleans.” He promised fans that on New Year’s Eve, “we’re going to be lit.”
