Jury Reaches Partial Verdict in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Federal Trial

*After more than 12 hours of deliberation, a Manhattan jury reached a partial verdict in the federal trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, announcing on Tuesday that it was deadlocked on one of the most serious charges: racketeering conspiracy.

As TMZ reports, the jury found consensus on four other counts—two related to sex trafficking and two involving the transportation of individuals for prostitution—but reported being unable to reach agreement on the racketeering charge, citing irreconcilable differences among jurors. The racketeering charge alleges that Combs operated a criminal enterprise through his business and associates, spanning over two decades.

Combs, who was arrested last September, has pleaded not guilty to all five felony counts. He denies involvement in any sexual assault or trafficking and maintains that his relationships were consensual. If found guilty of the most serious charges, he could face life in prison. Even a partial conviction could result in Diddy serving several years behind bars.

The six-week federal trial unfolded under intense public scrutiny. Prosecutors called 34 witnesses to support their claim that Combs used his fame and influence to orchestrate a pattern of violence, coercion, and sex trafficking.

Key testimony in the case came from Combs’ former girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who alleged that he subjected her to years of physical and sexual abuse.  Another woman, referred to in court as “Jane,” shared a similar account from a three-year relationship, claiming Combs used threats and drugs to manipulate her involvement in these encounters.

According to The New York Post, both the prosecution and defense agreed to continue jury deliberations, while Judge Arun Subramanian considered how to instruct the panel moving forward.

According to Deadline, the jury will reconvene on Wednesday to deliberate on the racketeering charge.

The partial verdict signals a critical moment in a case that has gripped the nation with its allegations of coercion, violence, and a hidden criminal enterprise.
