*Hip-hop icon Da Brat and her wife, beauty entrepreneur Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart, are opening up about their love story. Their upcoming book, “The Way Love Goes: A Guide to Building a ‘Beaurtiful’ and Everlasting Relationship,” will hit shelves on February 3, 2026, published by HarperCollins’ Amistad imprint.
The couple shared their excitement with PEOPLE, stating, “We’re beyond excited to finally share our story in this book. It’s raw, it’s real, it’s us-full of love, lessons, laughter and everything in between.”
Blending memoir and practical advice, the book unpacks the couple’s journey, from their 2017 meeting to their 2022 marriage. It explores their experiences as parents to their son, True Legend Harris-Dupart, born in July 2023. Da Brat and Judy first crossed paths before the rapper publicly identified as LGBTQ+. After reconnecting years later, their bond deepened, leading to a public relationship announcement in March 2020.
The couple’s “golden rules” for enduring love anchor the book’s narrative, blending heartfelt stories with practical tips. A press release highlights its “candid memories, heartfelt insights and actionable relationship advice.”
Patrik Henry Bass, Amistad’s Executive Editor, praised the book’s authenticity, noting, “Many readers are going to be surprised, in the most wonderful ways, at the joy, honesty, humor and ‘real-ness’ on every page of this testament to the power of love and friendship.”

“The Way Love Goes” is now available for preorder, promising readers an inspiring blend of love, humor, and hard-earned wisdom.
“True love and longevity is about commitment, communication, understanding and sacrifice. We hope readers thoroughly enjoy our journey and how we sustain a happy and successful partnership,” Da Brat and Judy said.
