*Corey Holcomb claims he was sucker-punched by fellow comedian Cristina Payne and is now seeking a restraining order against her.
According to Holcomb, the altercation happened in December outside the Hollywood Improv, where Payne allegedly attacked him from behind and hurled insults. He also accuses her of providing TMZ with a misleading video that omits her aggression. While a judge denied his immediate request for a restraining order, a hearing is set for Tuesday, where both comedians will present their sides before a final decision is made.
We reported earlier that the altercation allegedelly stems from a longstanding feud between Holcomb and Payne. According to sources from law enforcement who spoke with TMZ, the assault occurred when Payne was hanging out with friends outside the comedy club. Witnesses claim that Holcomb approached her, visibly agitated, and began yelling.
Tensions rose when Holcomb allegedly threatened to punch Payne. A nearby man intervened, attempting to de-escalate the situation by getting between the two comedians. However, it was then that Holcomb reportedly swung over the intervening individual and struck Payne in the face.
As the confrontation intensified, witnesses allege that both Corey and multiple people tackled the man trying to separate the two before Holcomb fled the scene.
