*Charlamagne Tha God has sent a cease and desist letter to former President Donald Trump concerning a campaign ad that criticizes Vice President Kamala Harris‘ position on using taxpayer funds for gender-affirming surgeries for transgender prisoners.
In 2019, Harris told the ACLU, “It is important that transgender individuals who rely on the state for care receive the treatment they need, which includes access to treatment associated with gender transition.”
She added, “I support policies ensuring that federal prisoners and detainees are able to obtain medically necessary care for gender transition, including surgical care, while incarcerated or detained,” Harris explained. “Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment.”
Trump’s ad includes a clip of Charlamagne reacting to Harris’ remarks but the audio was edited in a way that misrepresents his views, making it seem like he opposes her support for transgender prisons who want state-funded medical care. The radio host has taken legal action, requesting that Trump remove his voice from the ad.
“Cease and desist been sent,” Charlamagne said about the ad, Vibe reports. “Since when does Trump care about what’s legal!?”
Here’s Kamala explaining how she made sure “every transgender inmate in the prison system would have access to the medical care they desire.”

In the original audio, Charlamagne says: “I’ll tell you what, that ad they was running during the football games this weekend claiming the vice president supports funding gender transition surgeries for all prison inmates and migrants in the U.S., that was nuts.”
He admitted that he initially thought the ad’s message was compelling: “When you hear the narrator say Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners, that one line I was like, ‘Hell no, I don’t want my taxpayer dollars going to that.’”
Charlamagne also acknowledged the effectiveness of Trump’s ad: “That ad was impactful. It literally said that Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners and migrants. It made an impression.”
