Over the years the term ‘down low’ has been one of embarrassment for some, and shame for others. But 22-year-old limbo champ, Shemika Charles, gives that term a whole new meaning that can be looked at with pride.
As a world champion dancer in the limbo universe, Buffalo, New York-bred Charles has held the Guinness World Record for “lowest limbo” for a female since Sept. 16, 2010.
She earned the title after a performance on the “Live! with Regis and Kelly” TV show, when she got down low and limboed 8.5 inches.
Charles, who comes from a family of limbo enthusiasts, seems to always seek ways to continually try new things and break new records. Her latest accomplishment: being the first to limbo under an SUV!
