*The family of Celeste Rivas is declining multiple documentary offers as production companies pursue a story involving singer D4vd.
According to family attorney Patrick Steinfeld, multiple production companies have reached out with proposals connected to the murder case. He noted that some companies have already financed projects and are moving them forward without the family’s participation, TMZ reports.
Despite the level of interest, the family has taken a firm position. Steinfeld confirmed they have no plans to participate in any documentary projects at this time.

The developments come as media attention around the case continues to build. Production companies have increasingly looked to secure early access to individuals connected to high-profile criminal investigations.
Meanwhile, D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, remains in custody in connection with the death of the 14-year-old. He has pleaded not guilty to murder charges and remains held without bail. His parents say they “fully support him.”
“The parents are sad and disappointed that David was arrested, however, they fully stand behind him and believe that he is innocent,” family lawyer Kent A. Schaffer said, per Rolling Stone.
The case centers on the discovery of Rivas’ remains in a Tesla linked to D4vd. Police examined the vehicle after officers responded to a foul odor at a Hollywood tow yard in September 2025.Court records describe the remains as severely decomposed and partially dismembered.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department previously listed Rivas as missing from Lake Elsinore. Her last known sighting was at her home on April 5, 2024, at around 9 p.m., according to officials.
“Let us be clear, the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez, and he was not the cause of her death,” D4vd’s legal team said. “We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
