*The ongoing rivalry between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj flared up again on Monday (Sept. 29) with a fiery exchange of insults on X. The latest chapter began when Minaj, 42, mocked the promotional pricing of Cardi’s new album, “Am I the Drama?,” tweeting, “$4.99,” in a since-deleted post, Us Weekly reports.
She escalated the attack with a parody of Cardi’s song “Magnet,” writing, “Abcdefgeeeee / Fallin off the charts wit a big bellyyyy / RUNNING TRAINS. Barefoot, still smellyyyyy / Still. You. Could. Not. outsell. meeeeee.”
The feud, rooted in tensions dating back to 2018 when Minaj claimed Cardi never showed her “genuine” love, has now spilled into personal territory. Cardi, 32, responded on X, refusing to let Minaj’s taunts go unanswered, calling her “Cocaine Barbie.”

“Nothing more annoying than a bored btch,” Cardi B wrote, adding, “The power I have.. make these btches come out of rehab everytime. Go to your fing room.” She targeted Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, and her brother, Jelani Maraj, convicted in 2017 for predatory assault, with the lyric: “A B C D E F G / Your man have to snatch P* / P**** taste like honey comb Your bro be touching 12 year olds.”
Cardi B expressed frustration at being attacked while cooking at home, writing, “Naaaa cuz I was really baking ribs and making blondie brownies and here come this btch bothering me on a damn Monday. Damn she was streaming Magnet hard as hell huh?? .”
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper added, “Why you keep bringing up my album?? It’s not the gag that you think it is. You been in the game like 16 years.. you need to compare yourself to YOUR peers that started around YOUR time. Rihanna, [Taylor Swift], Drake…those are the numbers you need to be competing wit and you can’t cuz you doing lower than all of them… I was in high school when you came out wtf is you comparing yourself to me for???”
Minaj hit back with a now-deleted photoshopped image of Cardi as Barney the Purple Dinosaur. Social media buzzed with reactions, one user commenting, “This saga needs its own Netflix doc.” The personal attacks prompted other rappers to join the fray, with JT of City Girls appearing to side with Minaj, tweeting, “Lol that bitch home ugly & mad no celebration!” and echoing Minaj’s claim about inflated sales: “I would’ve been break dancing right now if I was #1 but she know she lied!!!!!”
Cardi, who recently announced her pregnancy with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, also addressed Minaj’s jabs at her expecting a baby while still married to rapper Offset, with whom she shares three children. “Alright now this the third tweet talkin about my pregnancy… like you wasn’t going to different fertility doctors cuz you couldn’t reproduce from all them percs scrambling your eggs. NOT ALLEGEDLY…Lord protect my babies,” Cardi B wrote.
