*Bronny James’ girlfriend Parker Whitfield gave him a shout-out on her Instagram Story on Oct. 3 in honor of National Boyfriend Day.
The 19-year-old daughter of “All My Children” star Dondré T. Whitfield and actress Salli Richardson-Whitfield posted a photo of herself and Bronny posing next to Mic Mickey Mouse at Disneyland, writing, “Bf day! i love you!” Bronny, the son of NBA star LeBron James, shared the post, adding, “I love you babyyyyy.”
The pair went to high school together and sparked romance rumors in August—when Parker was spotted sitting courtside with Bronny during a men’s basketball game at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
According to reports, Parker is a sophomore at Spelman College in Atlanta. Her father expressed pride in her pursuit of high education, writing on Instagram, “We are so excited that Parker has chosen @spelman_college as her ‘great experience’! It will undoubtedly offer her a top-tier education, sisterhood, and citizenship.”
Meanwhile, Bronny’s selection in the NBA draft has been criticized, but former Utah Jazz player Rudy Gay said, “I don’t know, man. I’ve talked to a lot of people about it, and I see no problem with it. I mean, who wouldn’t want to help their kids out? If that’s the case, I think he’ll be a good pro.”

Meanwhile, Magic Johnson has expressed strong opposition to Bronny playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, despite the team drafting him 55th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft. The 20-year-old has limited college basketball experience and Johnson believes he should develop his skills with the Lakers’ G League affiliate instead of joining his father LeBron James on the main roster.
“If I’m Bronny, I would tell my dad to just let me play in the G League all season so that I can develop,” Johnson said on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Basketball Network reports.
“He needs playing time. He doesn’t need to be sitting on the Lakers bench and not playing. That’s not a knock against him.” he added.
“He’s just not ready. He needs to develop more, and then he will be ready because he has some great talent and skills, but he needs to develop those skills at a much better clip if he wants to play 15-20 minutes a night in the NBA or more.”
