*”Bridgerton” star Adjoa Andoh recently discussed the persistent issue of inadequate lighting for Black skin on movie and TV sets.
“The continuing conversation about lighting Black skin, on every show, nothing’s changed. They’re getting better, so I suppose I feel powerful in that I will now go, ‘Am I blonde?’” Adjoa explained in an interview on the Stirring It Up podcast.
“I hate doing it because a bit of me’s like, ‘I don’t want to do it, I don’t want to make a fuss,'” she continued, Yahoo reports “I want to stay in character. I just want to come on and be Lady Danbury and do what she’s got to do and be totally engaged with that.”
Adjoa added, “This is a big thing for me. When people say we’re chippy or we’re being militant or we’re all that stuff, what I want to say is, ‘I’m just a human being and I just want to do the gift that I’m blessed with. I want to do it in a free way, like I see many other people do it.’ I’m not asking for any special revelation.”

Meanwhile, as “Bridgerton” Season 3 concludes, Netflix has revealed that Benedict Bridgerton will be the focus of the upcoming fourth season, Deadline reports.
“Welcome to the marriage mart, Benedict,” the teaser states, featuring a skit showing actor Luke Thompson being presented with a suit “for the masquerade ball.”
Per the official synopsis: “The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
“I think, for me, when we talked about Benedict’s storyline this season in the room, so many of us, including myself, felt like he reads as a queer character in Season 1 and 2. So we felt like we wanted to make sense of that,” season 3 showrunner Jess Brownell told Deadline of the decision for him to agree to Tilly and Paul’s advances. “I think we will continue that storyline of him exploring his fluidity going forward. This isn’t the end of that.”
